I was dissappointed at the Ventura show becuase it seemed like more of it was talk than music. I would have liked to hear more songs than wait 10 min for them to find a 15 year old for the "old school new school" speech
I have been seeing Social D for many years, and I have noticed that almost every show I can remember, his onstage talk has almost never changed. Same comments.

It gets old....really old. Stuck in a rut.....
you have a valid point there tyson, for those that go to only one show every 5 years or so, it seems like it is all fresh material. while i lived back there in cali, i went to just about every social d show i could muster. he does say the same stuff over and over again. i for one am getting sick of the "if it wasnt for the new school, there would be no old school" (or something like that) speech with the young kid summoned up on stage.

Well hey's the one with the mic and he's earned the right to repeat himself I guess. I sit on the fence for this one.
I've seen plenty of bands who do the exact same set every single night - down to little "mistakes" in between songs. The way I see it, at least there's changes to the setlist on a regular basis. Buzzcock, weren't you one of the few who got to see Rev Horton Heat play "Ring Of Fire" at a Social D show?
I'm sure you guys get sick of hearing the same thing over and over, but think about the people who live somewhere like Ohio, where Social D comes about once every five years. I've seen Social Distortion twice in my life: once when I was three and I saw them again last year. I wouldn't know a new setlist from an old one.
Yes! The Rev did an excellent take on it.
